Welcome to our bedroom! This is my favorite room in our house. I think it is so important to have a comfortable, light, clean, and refreshing bedroom. It contributes to a good night sleep as well as sweeter dreams. I have been collecting the pieces in this room for years and I am excited to share this tiny corner of my home with you.
The rooms in our house are teeny tiny! It was a bit challenging to get a picture of the whole room so I broke it down into pieces. The picture above is the view from the hall.
DIY – My dad and I made the headboard out of an vintage door I scored from an antique shop in Santa Cruz. We cut the door in half and nailed it to the wall. Totally worked and cost us less than $50.00.
Bedding/ Pillows/ Throw:
Blue Ruffled pillows are old and purchased at Urban Outfitters (link takes you to the new colors they have available)
Gold and white flower pillow purchased at Pier 1. They don’t have this pillow available online but they do in most of the stores I have been to in the Bay Area, Boise and Portland.
I replaced the ceiling fan (since we have AC now) with this elegant light fixture that I found at Pottery Barn.
DIY – The “love” burlap banner I made myself. It was really easy (I will share the details with you next week)!
Matching Side Tables:
DIY – These side tables I purchased at Goodwill and gave them a major makeover. I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to paint them. Super easy girl paint! No priming needed! (More on this later as I have painted pretty much my entire house with this paint) – front door, walls and even my kitchen cabinets!
The knobs are from Anthropoligie as well (I am an Anthro addict).
Mr. & Mrs. Sign:
The lamps I purchased at Peir 1. Major heart-eyes for these!
Vanity & Mirror:
I used to do my make-up sitting on the floor in front of a mirror or sitting in the bathroom sink. Drew suggested a tiny spot in the corner of our room would be a nice place for a vanity. I found the vanity at target. I remember looking around and being surprised by how much a vanity could cost and then I found this one for around $100.00. I took the original mirror off and replaced it with a mirror I found at TJ Maxx. I felt like it made the vanity look less like it belonged to a little girl.
Door knobs I found at Urban Outfitters. They are curtain tiebacks but I feel like they work perfectly as jewelry holders.
This grand and happy pouf I purchased at West Elm. I don’t think they have it available any more. It was a score too. The one draw back is, I feel bad when my husband sits on it to put his shoes on in the morning because its definitely on the girly side. Haha! Poor Drew.
Love You More Sign:
I found this darling sign at T.J. Maxx I bought my mom the very same one.
Vintage Window Picture Frame:
I was going for a shabby chic gets romantic with glam and I think I nailed it! [wink]
I hope you enjoyed a peek at this little corner of my nest.
