Pictures and details from a baby shower I put together this summer.
White Backdrop: My husband, Drew made for me.
Piñata: DIY – after looking at a few tutorials found on Pinterest.
Hanging Stars: We used wire hangers to form the stars and then hot glued leaves from a tree in our backyard to them.
Papers on the Backdrop: They are from a book called Crib Notes that I found at the thrift store. I cut out all the funny and interesting pages and then burned the edges to make them look even more vintage. They were really fun and interesting to read.
Some of the Momma to be, Stephanie’s, favorite treats. Donuts, macaroons and banana cake!
Hanging Stars: I punch the stars out with a star punch, then sewed them together.
Giant Star: I bought at a store in the Portland airport. Similar one here.
Gold Animals: Purchased on Amazon and spray painted them gold to be placed on top of the napkins. This was one of my favorite details.
Game: We had one game, guess the size of Steph’s belly. You cut the string to the length you think her belly is round and then attach the string to a star. The winner of course got a girly prize!
Favors: How cute are these cookie favors? Meredith is a brilliant cookie baker/decorator. She made all these darling favor bags. You should totally check her out on Instagram @mermadewithluv and see some of the other amazing cookies she has done! Love! Love! Love these!
This summer I got to host a shower for my lovely friend Steph (the one in the floral dress). Her and her husband told us they were expecting one day at brunch, which happened to be exactly what we had planned on telling them that day too! We discovered we were only five weeks apart! We would be bump buddies, new mommies and our littles would be friends. I was thrilled when she excepted my offer to throw her a shower. Steph and her husband Mitch decided not to find out the gender until the baby was born, which I think is so fun! It’s like a Christmas present – you know you are going to love whats inside but you don’t know what it is.
Since they didn’t know the gender we chose the theme Twinkle Twinkle Little Star How We Wonder What You Are! We were all wondering and all guessing. These gorgeous ladies in the photo helped me put this shower together. I couldn’t have done it without them.
Part two: Coming soon! I had too many pictures to put them all in one post.
